W.A.I.P. 2000 Satellite
The Italian Radio Amateur Association A.R.I. issues starting from January the 1st 2000 the W.A.I.P. award (H.A.I.P. for SWL) for satellite activity.
The award can be requested by all the OM'S and SWL who are member of A.R.I. or a Radio Society which is member of I.A.R.U., and can demonstrate to have had QSOs with the requested provinces number, in FM, CW, SSB or MIXED via satellite.
- There are the following categories:
1 - (LEO) LOW EARTH ORBIT SATELLITES
2 - HIGH ECCENTRICITY SATELLITES
- There are the following sub-categories:
1 - (LEO) LOW EARTH ORBIT SATELLITES
1.1.1 mode A 145 - 29 MHz 20 provinces and 20 Countries
1.1.2 mode A Pioneer 145 - 29 MHz 10 provinces and n. 10 Countries QSO done after 15/10/1972 (AO06 launch) till 23/06/1987 (RS10/11 launch).
1.2 mode T 21 - 145 MHz 15 provinces and n. 20 Countries
1.3 mode K 21 - 29 MHz 25 provinces and n. 20 Countries
1.4.1 mode B 435 - 145 MHz 10 provinces and n. 10 Countries
1.4.2 mode B Pioneer 435 - 145 MHz 5 provinces and n. 10 Countries all QSO done with OSCAR 7.
1.5.1 mode J 145 - 435 MHz 20 provinces and n. 20 Countries
1.5.2 mode J Pioneer 145 - 435 MHz 10 provinces and n. 15 Countries QSO done after 5/3/1978 (AO8 launch) till 7/2/1990 (FO20 launch).
2 - HIGH ECCENTRICITY SATELLITES OSCAR 10, OSCAR 13, OSCAR 40 (PHASE 3D)

We can accept QSO after 15/10/1972 (AO6 launch) for the old 95 provinces, for the new provinces:
QSO from 1 Genuary 1993 for: Biella (BI), Crotone (KR), Lecco (LC), Lodi (LO), Prato (PO), Rimini (RN), Verbania (VB), Vibo Valentia (VV)
QSO from 15 June 2004 force: Fermo (FM), Barletta-Andria-Trani (BT), Monza-Brianza (MB)
QSO from 4 February 2016 for: Sud Sardegna (SU)
With the request, you must send:
1) a detailed list of QSO'S with: call, date, time (UTC), frequency, mode of emission, reports exchanged and province of the station worked. This list must be signed by your national VHF-Manager or two others OM;
2) A copy of a document which can prove that you are member of a Radio Society which is affiliated to I.A.R.U.;
3) Photocopy of QSLs (if you send your log signed as above, these are not required, this rule is valid only for non-I stations);
4) Send 10 Euro to cover pack and postage for the award.
For any endorsement request you must apply as for paragraph 1 and 3 of these rules.
