W.A.I.P 2017
A.R.I. - Associazione Radioamatori Italiani is proud to present the WAIP Award (Worked All Italian Provinces) for HF bands, for Radio Amateurs of all the world.
1. Rules
1.1 Validity of the contacts.
The WAIP HF Award is issued by ARI to Radio Amateurs/SWL worldwide that can prove to have made 2-way radio contacts/heards in HF bands with stations of Radio Amateurs situated on the Italian territory, in its Provinces.
Since this edition a new multi band classification has been added.
The list of the Italian Provinces is available in the Table A.
All QSOs must be done on or after June 2nd 1948, except for Provinces established after that date: for them the validity date is in the Table A.
Three Italian provinces have been Deleted , and one Renamed, effective 01-01-2017; changes are reported in table A as well.
Applicants must have made the QSOs /HRDs from same DXCC Entity, except that is reported in the Table B.
All HF bands, from 0 Hz to 30 MHz, including WARC ones, can be used in the respect of national and international band plans. The Award can be obtained in Mixed, Phone, CW or Digital version, and in SWL version. Once chosen, the version cannot be modified for basic and upgrades. The use of different modes means the request of a separate Award.
1.2 Basic Award
The WAIP HF is issued first as Basic Award, with same rules of the previous versions: one credit each Province.
To get the WAIP Basic Award the levels are:
• 75 different Provinces for Italian applicants
• 60 different Provinces for foreign applicants
Same station can be contacted/heard more times if transmitting from different provinces. Foreign stations operating from Italian territory are equipared to Italian stations provided they follow the laws and the rules of the Italian Republic.
The WAIP Basic Award is issued in PDF format. The upgrades are electronically managed. Participants without Internet connection or without PC can contact the Award manager by surface mail.
1.3 Available versions.
The WAIP Award is issued also in the following versionsi: Mixed (any mode), CW, Phone, Digital (including RTTY), and, of course, for SWLs. If not indicated, the Award will be issued in Mixed version.
1.4 Multiband Classification and Honor Roll
Since this edition of the Rules the Provinces can be accredited even on more HF bands. For each qso/Province accredited on each banda is attributed one point, and a proper classification will be kept for this kind of participation. The classification is specific by mode, same as Basic Award; dfferent modes mean different multi-band classifications, so different Basic Awards as specified in previous chapters.
Theoric max number of points reachable is 990 (110 Provinces –deleted included- multiplied 9 HF bands).
The Honor Roll level is established at 500 points. The Honor Roll will be published on ARI web site www.ari.it, with the complete Multi-band Classification and on the magazine RadioRivista.
The participation to the Multi-band Classification and upgrades are electronically managed.
Those who already got the Basic Award with previous version of these Rules will have their score confirmed but they must send the complete GRC list of previous QSOs in electronic format with first request of upgrade.
1.5 Upgrades.
After the Basic Award, the Applicants can ask credits for new QSOs. Upgrades are accepted once in a year
All participants’ scores will be published on www.ari.it and on the magazine RadioRivista.
2. Procedures.
2.1 Application
The application for each Award must be done with WAIP1 form. This form contains the applicant’s data. Singning it the applicant allows the publication of his/her data (callsign, name and score) on www.ari.it and on the magazine Radio Rivista. The WAIP1 form is available on www.ari.it in the section Awards ARI/WAIP.
2.2 QSOs Crediting.
Applicants must send to the Manager ( ik2rls(at)ari.it ) the list of QSOs in ADIF format. In the comment field will be the indication of the Province worked in format WAIP-XX (XX is the two digits code of the Province)

Sending the QSL cards is not required but they must be in possession of the applicant and they are requested by the Award manager as part of regular application process (by scan and sending via e-mail). The QSL card shall clearly show the QTH and/or the related Province.
For SWLs: one QSO/QSL can be claimed for crediting only the Province of the Station who confirmed the HRD (and released the qsl), and not that of the worked station if the QSO was between Italian stations.
