ARI International DX Contest 2015
DX Results

Dear Contesters,
it is a great pleasure to present you the DX Results of the ARI International DX Contest, 2015 edition.
This one was not a record edition, as we were used to have in the last three years, but still a great one! And this has been possible with your participation, which is always rewarding! GRAZIE!
Very disturbed propagation conditions have definitely made you feel the descent of the solar cycle.
After the record of last year edition there was a slight decrease of 8.9% compared to last year, with a total of 1526 log received, as the result of a decrease of 6% of the DX station’s logs and more than 17% of the Italian stations.
The reception phase of the log, via the web upload at ua9qcq.com site, worked very well again and we had to intervene in a very few special cases.
Also this year well over 1,000 logs were received in the first 24 hours by the end of the contest so we consider that the 5 days term to send the log is not actually a problem. It has to be pointed out that the logs can be sent even after this term and they will be treated as checklog; on the other hand, if someone has really interest in being ranked, there will be enough time to send the log within the terms of the Rules.
The SWL log received were 15, 8 from DX stations and 7 from Italy, quite in line with previous years.
We are still very pleased with the operating level occurred also this year and, despite poor propagation conditions, new records have been set! Great!

In the following pages you will find the overall results by Contest Categories and then, the same results, by Country and Categories to make it easier to see what your result has been against the rest of the world or within your own country.
Now let’s have a look at the results. The Multi-Operator category has been won by ES9C team, they doubled the second, A61BK, who always put in a very good effort, while the third place went to HG7T.
The Single Operator categories, since last year, have been divided into High and Low Power.
In the Single-Operator CW HP, Nigel, 4X/G3TXF, went to Israel to take the top spot, leaving Sergey, UT0U (UT5UDX), another “aficionado ” of this contest, in the second place by a thin margin, who was just ahead of Choi, JT1CO, who took third place.
Sergey, 5B/RN3QO, took first place in the Single Operator Low Power, and a very tight race for the second place was won by Vladimir, UA3MIF, against Alexander, RG5A, which resulted third after log checking, being second in the claimed scores: congratulations Vlad for an almost golden log!.

Another very tight race in the SO MIX HP category, where Vladimir, UP0L, resulted the winner with very few points ahead of Dmitry, UW1GZ, while the third place went to Teijo, OG6N. In the SO MIX LP, we find Serge, R7MM, who was second last year, in the first place, also him with a very small margin against Andrey, UI5F, and with Victor, RU4SO, in the third place.
Atanas, LZ9R, is the winner of the SO RTTY HP with 1 Million points, with Vlad, UA6CE, in the second place and Anatoli, ES4RD, in the third. We have received 180 logs in the Low Power section, which is a very good number of entries: we are very pleased to offer a RTTY competition in our contest. In this category Victor, RA9AU, who was second last year, is the winner with more than 600 qso and a new World Record! Great performance Victor! Yuri, UP6P is in the second place not much far behind him, while Nick, UT5EPP, who was the last year’s winner, is in the third place.
Amir, 4Z6T, is the winner of the SO SSB HP section, which had more than the double of points of the second place holder Gennady, EW8QQ, who was already second last year, and ahead of Marius, YP0C, in the third place.
Alberto, EA1IQM, is the winner for the SO SSB LP, with another Spaniard. Josè Francisco, EA5HRV, in the second place and Victor, UT5HX in the third; we received only 172 logs in this section, which are a lot less than the 200 we had last year: another indication of bad conditions, where SSB Low Power suffers much more than other modes.
Coming to the end of the results, Rafal, SP7-003-24, is the winner of the SWL Category where we received 7 log from 6 countries.
Let me thank all of you for another great participations and while congratulate to the winners and new record holders I hope to meet you next year.
At the end of the result’s tables you will be able to read what the participants wrote in their SOAPBOX: DX QRM!!
That’s all for the 2015 edition and, while this edition is becoming history, it’s worth to remember that the next ARI International DX Contest will be held on May 7/8, 2016. Bookmark these dates on your calendar!
The rules for next edition will be published in due time on the ARI web site and, as of today, we do not foresee any important changes to them.
We are working on opening all the submitted LOGs to the public and they should be available in a short time on the ua9qcq.com web site, which will also be linked to the ARI web site.
Thank you for supporting the ARI International DX Contest again. See you next year!
